PolicyLinks
Sales, Excise & Use Taxes
The sales, use and excise tax module of the PolicyLinks system provides analysts with the ability to generate revenue estimates of sales, use and excise tax policy options. Revenue effects on businesses are measured according to detailed Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) or North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) categories. Revenue effects on families are presented on a distributional basis. Revenue effects on visitors are presents according to purchase category.
The databases for this module include macrodata for business intermediate, business investment and visitor purchases and microdata for household purchases. The Input-Output accounts of the US economy are used to simulate state-level business purchases by scaling the data for the entire US to specific state levels. Our user interface allows the user to edit/create policy "trees" through our PolicyCreator. Our report-building features allow users to build customized reports using any lines that have been created through the PolicyCreator. |
